The Architecture of Resonance: A Chromatic Manifesto

By Jonathan Robert Forde (jonnomango)

"Reality is not constructed of solid matter, but of vibrating information. Physical matter is predominantly empty space, suspended and held together by interacting fields. The true substance of space, time, and matter is thought itself."

In this cosmology, the wave-particle duality of the photon is understood as pure, incorruptible information. Because the photon lacks a lifespan, does not age, and resists entropy, it serves as the eternal carrier of this data across cosmic distances. The entire electromagnetic spectrum is an omnipresent network of information traveling at the speed of light (c).

If information is the fundamental building block of reality, then gravity is the metaphysical relationship between that information — the invisible ripples created by thoughts, emotions, and human connection.

Visible light occupies the short electromagnetic waves — highly concentrated, immediate, and pure. When the frequencies of pure emitted light perfectly align with the gravitational waves of a viewer's internal consciousness, harmonic resonance occurs.

Beauty is not subjective; beauty is a precise frequency match.

To visualize these invisible relationships, the work must reject the physical decay, surface grain, shadows, and thickness of traditional pigment. Using digital RGB screens capable of producing over 16 million colors through pure luminance, the artwork is constructed through "light-math" — the mathematical addition, subtraction, and multiplication of emitted light values. The resulting canvases, formatted in a strict 1:1 square aspect ratio known as the Cuboid Portal, serve as conceptual cross-sections of alternate dimensions.

The Tripartite Seasonal Progression

Season I

Chromatic Portals

Entry & Calibration

Foundational flat light renderings calibrating short electromagnetic waves. Informed by the vibrant turquoise, solar yellow, and red lighting of the Baignoire de Joséphine in Martinique, testing the tension between Barbadian geometric discipline and Creole saturation.

Season II

Chromatic Horizons

The Event Horizon (47 Symphonies)

The realization of the Event Horizon through the Line-Singularity. Two pure vector fields collide at a one-dimensional razor-edge without thickness, splitting perception into planes beyond ordinary space and forcing the viewer's frequencies into harmonic order.

Season III

Chromatic Strings

The Architecture of Gravity

The forthcoming mapping of the connective lattice. Moving past the event horizon to visualize the tension, oscillation, and invisible webbing of relational gravity that binds human consciousness, memory, and information across spacetime.

The Concept of the Viewer-Passer

The artwork functions as a gravitational lens. It is not an object to be passively looked at, but a sustained threshold of emitted light. The audience acts as a "Viewer-Passer," traversing the transchromatic space opened by the Line-Singularity. In doing so, you do not just see color — you engage in a symphony of resonance, experiencing the gravity of your own thoughts harmonizing with the incorruptible light of the universe.

The Architecture of Relational Light and Informational Gravity

The Physics, Metaphysics, and Light-Math of Forde Art

1. The Ontology of Information & The Incorruptible Photon

Modern theoretical physics and quantum mechanics converge on a radical truth: matter is not solid. An atom is 99.9999999% empty space held in structural equilibrium by electromagnetic and nuclear fields. In Jonathan Forde’s cosmology, the bedrock of reality is vibrating information.

Within Einstein's mass-energy equivalence (E = mc²), what carries and delivers this information? The answer is the photon. Unlike matter, which is subject to thermodynamic decay, friction, and entropy, the photon has zero rest mass, experiences no passage of time, and possesses no lifespan. A photon emitted at the dawn of the universe hits the human eye with the exact same life, velocity, and information it possessed at its genesis. Light is the only incorruptible substance in existence.

2. Informational Gravity as the Bond of Consciousness

If light is pure information, what is gravity? In Forde’s framework, gravity is the metaphysical relationship between packets of information. It is the invisible connective fabric that binds thoughts, memories, emotions, and human connections across space and time.

The human mind is a region of immense informational density. When we feel, contemplate, or love, consciousness radiates metaphysical gravitational waves at the speed of light. Informational Gravity is the reason two people feel an unspoken bond across a crowded room, or why a specific chord of color can instantly unlock a childhood memory buried decades in the past.

3. The Artwork as a Metaphysical Gravitational Lens

Just as massive celestial bodies warp spacetime to bend light, a Forde composition operates as a gravitational lens within an architectural room. When an observer approaches a 1:1 backlit installation, their chaotic, entropic internal mental frequencies are pulled into the gravitational field of the canvas. The stable, mathematical emission of 16+ million RGB values acts as an optical tuning fork, pulling the viewer's consciousness into harmonic synchronization.

4. The Additive Plane & "Light-Math" (Stained-Glass Without Glass)

Traditional painting relies on the subtractive color model — mixing physical pigments that absorb light, create surface texture, cast micro-shadows, and degrade with age. Forde works exclusively on the Additive Plane.

Surfaces are not painted; they are computed. Through light-math, digital light vectors are overlaid using algebraic compositing operations — mathematical additions, subtractions, and multiplications of RGB values. Each layer is an acoustic instruction of emitted light. The result is a stained-glass glow with zero physical thickness, rendered at the archival threshold of 8K² (8192 × 8192 pixels) where adjacent color fields meet with zero paper bleed or material interference.

5. Art-Historical Lineage: The Evolution of Abstraction

Forde Art is the direct technological and spiritual continuation of 20th-century modernist pioneers:

Rothko & Newman → Dimensional Rupture

Where Color Field masters enveloped the viewer in atmospheric reflected paint, Forde uses emitted RGB vectors to breach the surface, opening literal doorways (Portals) into higher-dimensional space.

Donald Judd → Metaphysical Objecthood

Forde adopts Judd’s minimalist rigor and geometric clarity, but inverts Judd’s purely literal objecthood by infusing the 1:1 square canvas with spiritual and metaphysical resonance.

Henri Matisse → Infinite Digital Purity

Matisse purified art with gouache paper cut-outs, yet had to accept the material shadow of paper edges. Forde achieves Matisse's dream of absolute flat color using mathematical vector curves with zero physical thickness.

Wassily Kandinsky → Emitted Retinal Harmonics

Kandinsky declared that color directly vibrates the human soul. Forde propels this mission into the digital era, emitting calibrated photon wavelengths directly into the retina to generate acoustic emotional chords.

Submenu 3.3

The Lexicon of Resonance

A conceptual cosmology defining the operative terms of Transchromatic Space and Relational Light.

01 • Singularity

Line-Singularity

The master operative concept: a point of visual truth where two chromatic fields enter into resonance and open a perceptual passage toward a real imaginary space without physical thickness.

02 • Cosmology

Informational Gravity

The metaphysical relationship between units of information — the invisible relational binding force created by human consciousness, memory, and emotional connection across spacetime.

03 • Ontology

Line of Chromatic Truth

Ontological emphasis. Truth is not in color alone, but in the exact mathematical collision of pure hues upon the Additive Plane without physical material interference.

04 • Consciousness

Viewer-Passer

The active spectator who does not merely look at the artwork, but traverses the transchromatic threshold opened by the Line-Singularity to close the relational loop.

05 • Computation

The Additive Plane & Light-Math

Constructing visual surfaces using mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication of RGB light values) on a 100% flat luminous screen rather than mixing physical pigment.

06 • Spatial Geometry

1:1 Cuboid Portal

The strict 1:1 square module (calibrated at 8K² / 8192 × 8192 px) capturing an architectural cross-section of space — a geometric doorway into alternate dimensional reality.

07 • Musical Acoustics

The Symphony

An orchestrated synergy of colors, shapes, and mathematical values calculated across the Additive Plane to generate pure emotional wavelengths (such as the 47 Symphonies of Season II).

08 • Resonance

Bichromatic Resonance

The mutual harmonic vibration generated when two complementary or contrasting flat hues are placed in immediate razor-edge adjacency, acting as emotional acoustics for the eye.

09 • Spatiality

Transchromatic Space

The perceptual, higher-dimensional realm born from light itself that opens beyond the boundary of the Line-Singularity, sustained by pure 16+ million RGB emissions.
